Welcome to the Undergraduate Law Review at UIUC
The Undergraduate Law Review at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was founded in the fall of 2018. It is the first undergraduate law review in UIUC history. The Review’s inaugural issue was published in the spring of 2019.
Mission
The Review aims to shine a light on legal issues that affect the broader Champaign-Urbana community. The CU area is home to a diverse population with distinct needs — from University students to working-class families and immigrant communities. It is important that CU residents know and understand the law to better advocate for themselves. As such, it is the Review’s ambition to publish articles that are both pertinent to the CU community and that address pressing national legal questions. Ideal pieces will do both.
Organization
The Review is comprised of two organizational bodies — the executive board and the editorial board. The executive board is tasked with logistical and organizational responsibilities that help the group function, from organizing weekly meetings to fundraising. The editorial board and staff write and edit all articles for each issue. For more information on the Review’s structure, see the constitution and bylaws.
Submissions
The Review welcomes work pertaining to the year’s theme submitted by any undergraduate student, graduate student, or faculty member who is not a member of the Review. To find out about submissions, view our submissions page. More information will be posted regarding the 21-22 publication later this year.
